Addressing Population Health Issues

HAP has created a dashboard and maps as resources to help hospitals and their community partners to better understand the health needs and challenges across Pennsylvania. The metrics included on this dashboard include screening, prevention, chronic, and acute conditions that influence a person’s health and shape the health of our communities.

Many of these resources can be found through the population health dashboard on this page, and more tools are in the works. The detailed county mapping by prevalence shows the challenges on a local level.

Pennsylvanians See Billions in Economic, Community Benefits from Hospitals in their Communities

As Pennsylvania ages and looks to revitalize its economy, hospitals are more important than ever to the health and vitality of communities. To meet these needs, the commonwealth’s hospitals have invested nearly $10 billion in strengthening the health of their communities, while supporting 1 in 9 jobs statewide and 19 percent of the commonwealth’s gross domestic product, an analysis released today by The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) indicates.
