HAP Congratulates New Legislative Leadership Teams Ahead of 2025–2026 Session

The 2025–2026 General Assembly has taken shape this week with both parties electing a new class of leaders for the upcoming session.

The following lawmakers have been elected to legislative leadership posts:

House Democrats:

  • Speaker:  Representative Joanna McClinton (D-Philadelphia/Delaware)
  • Majority Leader:  Representative Matt Bradford (D-Montgomery)
  • Majority Whip:  Representative Mike Schlossberg (D-Lehigh)
  • Appropriations Chair:  Representative Jordan Harris (D-Philadelphia)
  • Majority Caucus Chair:  Representative Rob Matzie (D-Beaver)
  • Majority Caucus Secretary:  Representative Tina Davis (D-Bucks)
  • Caucus Administrator:  Representative Leanne Krueger (D-Delaware)
  • Policy Chair:  Representative Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie)

House Republicans:

  • Minority Leader:  Representative Jesse Topper (R-Bedford)

Senate Democrats

Democrats retain a one-seat majority in the Pennsylvania House, while Republicans hold a 28–22 majority in the Senate. Additionally, 18 lawmakers will be heading to Harrisburg for their freshman session.

HAP would like to congratulate all the newly elected leadership teams from both parties and welcome the incoming freshman class of lawmakers to Harrisburg.
