As a result of the pandemic, hospital PFACs no longer were able to meet face-to-face.

Hospitals, which had to focus on suppressing the spread of COVID-19 and optimizing the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), had to close doors to all but essential personnel and limited or even halted family and caregiver visitation.

PCORI was created in 2010, through the Affordable Care Act, “to improve the quality and relevance of evidence available to help patients, caregivers, clinicians, employers, insurers, and policy-makers to make informed health decisions”.
