Overview
During 2024, the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) began drafting proposed updates to all 35 chapters of hospital licensure regulations. The DOH shared information related to these proposals in a series of stakeholder feedback sessions hosted in the summer and fall of last year. At that time, HAP engaged regulatory experts from member hospitals to provide initial feedback. The DOH has indicated that it will release its proposed regulatory update in late spring.
Over the next few weeks, HAP will be hosting listening sessions with clinical and operational subject matter experts to give professionals on the front line an opportunity to get more information on the DOH’s proposals and to provide feedback that will help shape the hospital community’s response.
Five sessions in total will be facilitated according to subject matter (see below). Please share this information with colleagues that you feel could provide concrete examples of how outdated regulations or how harmful regulatory proposals could impact patient care.
All sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (ET). The dates and topics covered are listed below.
- February 25—Discharge Planners and Care Coordinators
- March 4—Obstetrics Service Line Leaders
- March 6—Surgery and Anesthesia Service Line Leaders
- March 11—Nurse Leaders
- March 19—Clinical and Operational Leadership
