RHELAN 2024: Enroll in HAP’s New Racial Health Equity Learning and Networking Cohorts

Location: , ,

Registration Deadline: April 15, 2024

Overview

HAP’s Racial Health Equity Learning Action Network (RHELAN) is bringing together the hospital community to identify and confront systemic inequality and structural racism in health care.

  • About:  Two new learning and action cohorts held simultaneously between April and September will focus on culturally appropriate patient care and the collection and use of data to drive change.
    • The cohorts will include five virtual, skill building sessions and regularly scheduled coaching/networking calls designed to support peer-to-peer networking, troubleshooting, and sharing.
  • Get involved:  This month, the hospital community is encouraged to enroll in these two exciting learning opportunities by April 15. The opportunity is available to all HAP member organizations interested in enhancing and expanding their racial diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Background:  This programming builds on the action network’s initiatives to encourage hospital to complete the American Hospital Association’s Health Equity Transformation Assessment and to strengthen Race, Ethnicity and Language (REaL) data collection. It also follows recommendations from last year’s Health Equity Action Day.
  • Coming together:  The 2024 Patient Safety, Quality, and Equity Symposium in Harrisburg on September 30–October 1 will provide an opportunity for the RHELAN to collaborate in-person and share lessons from this important work.

For questions or to get involved, contact Jennifer Jordan, vice president, regulatory, behavioral health and equity strategy, or Janette Bisbee, education/project manager, quality initiatives.
