HAP Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) has partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the two organ procurement organizations serving Pennsylvania—the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and Gift of Life Donor Program—for the HAP Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge.

HAP Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge will begin April 1, 2024

HAP’s 2024 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge will began April 1, 2024, in conjunction with National Donate Life Month, and will end April 30.

HAP members are encouraged to participate in the 2024 HAP Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge! Hospitals will be acknowledged for their efforts—the awareness and designation activities are captured on a scorecard for participating hospitals. About the Annual Challenge

The HAP Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ donation awareness and designations within their hospital and community.

The awareness and designation activities are captured on a scorecard for participating hospitals to achieve titanium, platinum, gold, silver, and bronze level point totals.

National Minority Donor Awareness Month (NMDAM)—August 2024

Stemming from National Minority Awareness Week, founded in 1996 by the National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP), NMDAM increases awareness of donation and transplantation in multicultural communities with a focus on African American, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American Communities.

This observance aims to create a positive culture for organ, eye, and tissue donation to save and improve the quality of life of diverse communities. It is a collaborative initiative of the National Multicultural Action Group (NMAG).
