HAP Issues Statement on House Professional Licensure Committee Approval of Telemedicine Bill

News Release: Andy Carter, president and CEO of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), released the following statement after the Pennsylvania House Professional Licensure Committee today voted unanimously to approve Senate Bill 780, which would define telemedicine, provide consumer protections for it, and expand insurance coverage for telemedicine services.

News Release:  The latest Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) report highlights the important work that hospitals are doing to help consumers maintain optimal health and delay disease progression. The report, released today, found that during the past decade—fiscal year (FY) 2009 through FY 2017—the rate of potentially preventable hospitalizations dropped by 28 percent.
