Physician General Shares Ways the State, Providers are Fighting the Opioid Crisis Together

Today, health care leaders and their teams from across the commonwealth attended the first day of HAP’s 2016 Patient Safety & Quality Symposium. Pennsylvania’s Physician General Dr. Rachel Levine spoke about ways that hospital and health system leaders are working with government partners and other stakeholders to help address the opioid crisis.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention launches two new programs to support states in the fight against the opioid overdose epidemic

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the launch of two new programs and the enhancement of an existing program to assist states in fighting opioid abuse. The funds, to be awarded through a competitive process, are designed to provide states with the tools they need to combat opioid overuse, misuse, abuse, and overdose.
