Physician General Shares Ways the State, Providers are Fighting the Opioid Crisis Together

Pennsylvania’s Physician General Dr. Rachel Levine spoke about ways that hospital and health system leaders are working with government partners and other stakeholders to help address the opioid crisis.

CMS Announces New Payment Model for Nursing Facility Care; Western PA Collaborative Recognized for Success in Reducing Avoidable Hospitalizations

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced phase two of the Initiative to Reduce Avoidable Hospitalizations among Nursing Facility Residents.

After demonstrating strong success in phase one, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Community Provider Services was selected as one of six enhanced care and coordination providers to be awarded a cooperative agreement for the four-year payment phase.
