PA Hospitals Congratulate Wolf and Fetterman on Inauguration
January 15, 2019
Earlier today, Governor Tom Wolf was sworn in to a second term and John Fetterman was sworn in as Pennsylvania’s new Lieutenant Governor. Andy Carter, President and CEO of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), released the following statement following the swearing-in ceremony:
“HAP and Pennsylvania’s hospital community extend congratulations and well wishes to Governor Tom Wolf and the new Lieutenant Governor, John Fetterman.
“State government and the hospital community have achieved and will continue to achieve great things together. Through our collaborative work to stabilize health care access in rural Pennsylvania, address food and housing insecurity, improve emergency preparedness, and improve access to behavioral health services, we know there are many critical priorities that unite us.
“In the absence of a public hospital system, our hospitals are open 24/7/365 to treat every patient who walks through their doors—regardless of their ability to pay for the care they receive. And, as hospitals strive to improve the overall health and wellness of Pennsylvanians—and help them stay out of the hospital altogether—the longstanding partnership between the commonwealth and hospital community is even more imperative.
“We are both in the business of improving the health of Pennsylvanians. We look forward to continuing our partnership with this administration to create a healthier Pennsylvania.”
