HAP Congratulates New Committee Chairs, Health Committee Leaders
January 08, 2019
Pennsylvania’s state legislature released committee chair announcements for the 2019–2020 legislative session and there will be a few new faces in the role of chair for the House Health Committee and the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
Representative Kathy Rapp (R-Warren) returns as majority chair for the House Health Committee while Representative Dan Frankel (D-Allegheny) is new to this position as minority chair. Similarly, in the Senate, Senator Michele Brooks (R-Mercer) will take the reins of the Health and Human Services committee as her first term as chair. Joining her, Senator Art Haywood, (D-Philadelphia) will serve as minority chair of this committee for the first time.
“I’d like to extend a sincere congratulations to each of the returning and new committee chairs who have clearly demonstrated their capacity as leaders,” said Andy Carter, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania. “The hospital community looks forward to engaging with them as we continually seek to hold Pennsylvanians’ health and health care to the highest standard.”
