Marketplace Open Enrollment in PA: 124,000 Plan Selections So Far, Hospitals Continue to Push for Coverage
November 30, 2017
During the first four weeks of open enrollment (November 1–25), Pennsylvania has had 124,081 plan selections in the Health Insurance Marketplace via the HealthCare.gov platform.
During week four, more than 500,000 people nationwide selected health plans using HealthCare.gov. National plan selections totaled more than 2.7 million during the first four weeks of open enrollment, including more than 700,000 new enrollees.
This year open enrollment will last less than seven weeks, from November 1 to December 15. Continued outreach for signups in the Health Insurance Marketplace during the open enrollment period is crucial to achieving health insurance coverage for all Pennsylvanians.
HAP and Pennsylvania’s hospitals and health systems continue to promote health insurance coverage for all Pennsylvanians.
To date, Affordable Care Act provisions have helped more than 1.1 million Pennsylvanians secure coverage—including 400,000 through the Health Insurance Marketplace—providing better access to high quality health care services and dramatically reducing the number of uninsured Pennsylvanians.
