News Release: The Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) today released a research brief about the rise in neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) hospital stays in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania hospitals are working as key partners with state and local government and community organizations to prevent substance use disorder (which reduces the frequency of NAS), to educate the public about the dangers of opioid misuse, and to care for patients.

News Release: Early this morning, the U.S. Congress passed legislation that raises the debt ceiling, reallocates the current budget caps for defense and domestic discretionary programs, and temporarily funds the government through March 23. The spending plan also contains several hospital priorities.

Wolf’s proposal would sustain funding for key hospital lines and would allocate additional resources for opioid crisis response.
