HAP is hosting Pennsylvania-specific events during the 2018 AHA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. Registration is closed for these events. If you still would like to register, contact Zach Border.

Pricing Details: There is no additional cost to attend HAP's Pennsylvania-specific events scheduled during the AHA Annual Meeting.

OVERVIEW

The American Hospital Association will host its annual membership meeting in Washington, D.C. from May 6 through May 9.

HAP members are invited to attend Pennsylvania-specific events during the annual meeting that will provide an opportunity for Pennsylvania hospital leaders to engage with key Congressional staff and interact with colleagues from around the nation.

The AHA annual meeting provides an opportunity for hospitals to hear from influential political, policy, opinion, and health care leaders, and gain perspectives that will help us continue to build a better health care system for the future.

Participants will be brought up to date on the latest political dynamics and policy initiatives captivating our nation’s Capital. Some of the featured commentary will be provided by Frank Sesno, former CNN Washington bureau chief, Peggy Noonan, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the Wall Street Journal and bestselling author, and Jake Tapper, chief CNN Washington correspondent.

Featured briefings will highlight Congressional policy and politics, Medicaid innovations, equity of care, preparing and responding to disasters, and commercial insurance dynamics.

Targeted breakout sessions will explore:

  • Supporting small and rural hospitals
  • The partnership between hospitals and post-acute care
  • Physician payment under MACRA
  • Addressing affordability through value
  • Reducing health care disparities

Early registration with the AHA closes on March 23.

Online registration will run through May 4 

Please note hotel reservations at the Washington Hilton must be made no later than Friday, April 13. 

OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS

The AHA has secured a block of rooms for individuals registered for the AHA Annual Membership Meeting at the Washington Hilton located at 1919 Connecticut Ave., NW (at Columbia Road, NW) Washington, D.C. 20009.

You must be registered for the AHA Annual Membership Meeting to reserve a room at the Washington Hilton. 

Your AHA registration confirmation email will contain a link to a special AHA-Hilton web page, along with an event code. You can use this webpage to book your room any time before the AHA hotel block expires on Friday, April 13. 

You also can make a reservation by phone (800) 445-8667 or (202) 483-3000 by providing the code to a reservation agent. You will only be able to make one room reservation per AHA annual meeting registrant.

Pennsylvania-specific events during the 2018 AHA Annual Meeting

Pennsylvania hospitals are invited to attend events coordinated by HAP on Tuesday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 9 which will include:

  • A bi-partisan, bi-cameral Congressional staff panel discussion on health care policy issues facing Congress
  • Hospital leaders reception to facilitate conversation and collaboration with hospital leaders and Congressional delegations from Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York
  • Opportunities to engage with the Pennsylvania Congressional delegation on Capitol Hill
  • Advocacy meetings with U.S. House offices on Wednesday (self-scheduled)

There is no additional fee to attend the Pennsylvania-specific events during the AHA 2018 Annual Meeting. 

 

The deadline to alert HAP of your attendance at the Pennsylvania-specific events is Wednesday, April 25.
