Registration fee includes all meal and break functions, as well as all handout materials. Credit card payment is required at time of online registration.

HAP nonmember rate - $399

Substitutions & Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be granted for written cancellation requests received or processed online by April 5. Cancellations over the phone will not be accepted. No refunds will be granted after April 5. There is a $50 administrative fee on all cancellations. Substitutions are permitted. No shows will be billed. Walk-in registrations will require payment onsite.

About Our Speakers

KIM FOX
Kim Fox, Partner, National Practice Leader with Jarrard, Phillips, Cate & Hancock, has more than two decades of in-hospital marketing and communications experience. She leads the communications design practice, helping clients’ marketing and communications departments “retool for health care’s new era.” Prior to joining Jarrard, Kim was a regional executive director for IASIS Healthcare and director for marketing and communications for Adventist Health for 13 years. Kim is a speaker, author, and frequently quoted expert. She was the lead author of “The Internal Communications Imperative, Best practices for engaging hospital and health system employees.” Kim is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development and the Tennessee Society for Healthcare Marketing & Public Relations.

REED SMITH
Reed Smith, founder and president of the Social Health Institute and THA Digital Marketing at Texas Hospital Association, has experience as a hospital marketing director and, as a former member of the Texas Hospital Association team, he created a social media guide for hospitals. Reed serves as the Chief Social Strategist for Gray Digital Group as well a founding advisory board member for both the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network, and the health track at the SXSW® Interactive festival.

COLIN MILLIGAN
Colin Milligan is the senior associate director of media relations at the American Hospital Association (AHA), where he is responsible for helping to advance the AHA’s mission, along with its members and allied organizations, through media outreach and internal and external communications. Prior to the AHA, Colin worked in communications and media relations on Capitol Hill for Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Congresswoman Cheri Bustos of Illinois. He is a Michigan native and graduated from DePauw University.

DAVID LA TORRE
David La Torre, La Torre Communications founder and a former press secretary for a Pennsylvania governor, has advised many clients through crises, including the Quecreek Mine rescue. He has worked with and appeared in media outlets across the country and world. Last year, Dave coached the HAP senior team through a comprehensive training about handling tough on-camera media interviews. With issues such as cyber-security breaches, gun violence, and billing practices front and center, having the right team on board and ready is crucial.
