Raising the Bar for Sepsis Care in Pennsylvania

The goal of this event is to assist hospitals in sepsis recognition, treatment, and prevention efforts.
This educational activity is jointly provided by AXIS Medical Education and HAP.

Pricing Details: Buffet Lunch - Approximately $20 (Payment made by you to the hotel on the day of the program)

Program Overview

The subtleties of sepsis presentation in the ER, ICU and Medical-Surgical unit settings will be discussed. The association between timely completion of the three-hour bundle and sepsis mortality will be emphasized. Hospital specific data will be provided to assist hospitals to formulate a plan to address and prevent sepsis readmissions. Please join us for the opportunity to network and learn with a variety of colleagues and expert faculty presenters. All acute care hospitals are welcome to attend and participants will leave in action to improve sepsis care, bundle compliance, and reduce sepsis mortality and readmissions in Pennsylvania hospitals.

Program Objectives

  • Compare and contrast the subtleties of sepsis in different care settings
  • Discuss the association between timely completion of the 3-hour bundle and sepsis mortality
  • Discuss barriers to sepsis bundle compliance
  • Formulate a plan to address sepsis readmissions using hospital-specific data
  • Review sepsis success stories/lessons learned from participating hospitals

Participants will leave in action to improve sepsis care, bundle compliance, and reduce sepsis mortality and readmissions in Pennsylvania hospitals.

Registration and Lunch Information

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the program.

Although this program is free of charge, you must register to attend. This will be a green event. In order to minimize the environmental cost of publishing, a link to presentations will be sent to all registrants prior to the program. 

Due to government restrictions, we can not offer food or beverages at the program. The Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel will have available for your purchase a buffet lunch. The cost is approximately $20 and you will be required to pay the day of the program. When registering, please indicate if you plan to purchase the buffet lunch.

A limited block of rooms has been reserved for the evening of September 5 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel, 4650 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, PA. In order to guarantee yourself a room at the hotel, you must make reservations by no later than midnight on Tuesday, August 22. After this time, reservations will be accepted on a space available, rate available basis, and you may not be guaranteed the group room rate of $110 per room, per night (single or double occupancy), plus taxes. Please call the hotel directly at 717-564-5511 for overnight accommodations and specify that you are attending a HAP event.
