The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.

HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally, including the southeast.

The HAP team supports the association’s goal of advocating for a health care delivery environment that enables hospitals and health systems to provide accessible, affordable, quality care to all Pennsylvanians.

Regional Manager, Emergency Preparedness, South Central and South Central Mountain Regions

This position provides expert consultation and advisement to emergency preparedness planners in health care systems and health care facilities seeking to improve their individual emergency response plans, and works to enhance their ability to participate in regional planning and response.

Health care facilities include:

  • Hospitals
  • Long-term care facilities
  • Ambulatory surgical centers
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Other facilities the Pennsylvania Department of Health or Regional Coalition deems critical to emergency preparedness planning and response

The regional manager also provides administrative leadership and management and support to the assigned coalitions, facilitating business processes, required activity tracking, and reporting activities. This position also serve as a liaison between Pennsylvania Department of Health staff and health care facilities and systems.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; a Master's degree is preferred
  • Five years or more of experience in health care facility related emergency preparedness and management
  • Five years or more of experience in fire, emergency medical services, clinical/allied health, law enforcement, an emergency management agency, or other emergency field-related experience
  • Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional, Certified Emergency Manager, or a similar recognized credential preferred

Candidates for this position must be self-motivated with strong customer relation, computer, and organizational skills. The successful candidate must be able to recognize and solve issues quickly, multi-task, travel, and work a flexible schedule.

Senior Director, Compliance Support

The senior director, compliance support, liaisons directly with hospital leadership and other health system staff to help member hospitals understand and meet the expectations of those who pay and regulate the industry.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in health care, hospital administration, management, or related field
  • Five to seven years of experience in compliance, accreditation services, hospital operations, or regulatory policy preferred
  • Self-motivated with strong customer relations and organization skills
  • Must be able to analyze complex subjects quickly and identify the potential impact on HAP member hospitals and health systems

This position works autonomously to manage compliance-related projects and collaborates with HAP's advocacy team to shape HAP's regulatory and legislative response to state and federal public policy issues that affect HAP members.

Senior Administrative Assistant

This position is responsible for providing administrative and project support to the Executive Office and the chief strategy officer, and acts as a back-up to the special assistant to the president.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • Advanced secretarial training or an administrative certificate or Associate’s Degree in related field preferred
  • Proficiency with a personal computer (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
  • Experience with audio/visual equipment is mandatory
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in a high-performance team environment

This position requires an individual that is well-organized and detail-oriented. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, take initiative, and possess the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.

Data Analyst

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania is seeking a Data Analyst who will be responsible for discovering, accessing, and distilling processes in data analytics.

Primary responsibilities include primary and secondary research, organizing, refining, and exploratory data analysis, and using analytics to generate inferences in healthcare delivery. Activities will reflect business and information needs. Process improvement and support efforts to drive efficiency from legacy systems to new system and processes.

Under the direction of research leadership, and in collaboration with other members of the division, individual will assist in the development, maintenance and analysis of systems, developing reports and resources to be used by the organization for advocacy and member engagement.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, healthcare administration or related field
  • Experience in health information systems, management information systems or other related healthcare experience preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in data analysis, data mining, or other disciplines in data science
  • Must have experience with business intelligence tool Tableau and demonstrated high level of proficiency with database management applications
  • Must have Analytical skills and statistical knowledge, experience and application of Adobe Creative Suite, advanced SQL, SPSS, Microsoft Excel and Access skills
  • Project management skills and well as creative problem solving skills are necessary
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate in the English language
