The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.
HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally, including the southeast.

Project Director/Senior Research Analyst
The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania is seeking a Project Director/Senior Research Analyst. This position will conduct thoughtful, rigorous policy research about a broad range of policy areas (e.g. Medicaid and Medicare, the uninsured, quality of care, care coordination, health information technology, public reporting) in support of the association’s strategic goals, objectives, and annual work plans.
The selected candidate will:
- Lead the development of and management for member surveys
- Conduct literature/evidence reviews
- Lead qualitative and quantitative studies that will serve as the basis for new policy initiatives
- Support activities affecting health systems, hospitals, and public health
- Produce written materials disseminating findings
- Represent HAP before various health stakeholders, including members and the health research community
Candidates for this position must have:
- A master’s degree in public policy, business, economics, or related social science
- Five to ten years of experience in policy research, hospital economics, health care finance, or health care consulting
Project management training and association research experience is a plus. We require demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preference given to candidates demonstrating experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau), database management software (Access, SQL), literature review databases (EBSCO, PubMed), statistical software (Alteryx, R, SPSS), qualitative research software (NVivo) and survey software (Qualtrics, Survey Monkey).
In addition, excellent communication skills, project management/organizational skills, supervisory and mentoring skills, statistical/data analytics skills, math skills, collaboration/interpersonal skills, and critical thinking/problem solving skills are vital to the success of this position.

Project Coordinator, the Healthcare Improvement Foundation
Healthcare Improvement Foundation (HCIF) is seeking a Project Coordinator to
provide support to senior staff in the management of their clinical and
population health projects and associated deliverables. This position is responsible
for preparing project reports and presentations and assuring timely completion
of deliverables. It also provides support for committees, conferences,
webinars, project team meetings, and other events.
for consideration must have:
least a Bachelor’s degree
to two years of work experience in a position involving quality improvement,
patient safety, project management, or population health in a health care
organization or community setting
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- A working knowledge of applied statistics, research methods, web-based tools, and
- Ability to analyze, summarize, and present clinical data
