The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.

HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally, including the southeast.

The HAP team supports the association’s goal of advocating for a health care delivery environment that enables hospitals and health systems to provide accessible, affordable, quality care to all Pennsylvanians.

Current Job Opportunities

Director, Online Communications

HAP is seeking a team-oriented director, online communications. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the association’s online communications strategy in support of the organization’s goals. The director, online communications, manages the association’s website, including content development, analytics, and integration with other social media platforms. Strong project management skills and strategy planning experience is critical. Candidate will be responsible for the success of a new website which is launching early 2019.

The director works with association staff to promote hospital issues, advocacy messages, business initiatives, and educational offerings and communicate critical hospital and health care information to members and the public.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Five to seven years of website management experience
  • Proficiency in the use of content management system software
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud required
  • Background in health care or trade association setting is beneficial
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred

Individual should be accomplished in strategy and tactics for email marketing/marketing automation platforms. Experience with Higher Logic beneficial. Deep knowledge of content management systems required, with DNN Evoq background a plus. 

The position also includes the creation of certain association e-publications, writing, and editing, as well as video production.

Strong customer service skills, and ability to work collaboratively with HAP staff, members, and external publics is a must. The association values those open to new learning opportunities.

Project Coordinator

HAP is seeking a Project Coordinator to provide assistance and support for our contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The Project Coordinator works directly with project managers and subcontractors to provide assistance in the submission of various deliverables to CMS, including monthly, quarterly, annual, and other ad hoc reports. This position will support the project managers in the management of their projects and associated deliverables under the federal contract with CMS. This will include the compilation of data for projects to demonstrate process improvement and reduction in patient harm, as required under the federal contract.

Candidates for consideration must have a bachelor’s degree in a health related field. If you have solid research, computer, analytic, and writing skills, apply today. Must be extremely adaptable to changing requirements and requests. Previous work with hospital metrics is preferred. Experience in grant writing a plus.
