The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.

HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally, including the southeast.

The HAP team supports the association’s goal of advocating for a health care delivery environment that enables hospitals and health systems to provide accessible, affordable, quality care to all Pennsylvanians.

Data Analyst

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a data analyst. This position is responsible for discovering, accessing, and distilling processes in data analytics. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Primary and secondary research, organizing, refining, and exploratory data analysis
  • Using analytics to generate inferences in health care delivery 
  • Process improvement and support efforts to drive efficiency from legacy systems to new system and processes. 

The individual also will assist in the development, maintenance, and analysis of systems, developing reports and resources to be used by the organization for advocacy and member engagement. We are looking for a high-energy, creative individual with superior analytical skills.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, health care administration, or related field
  • Experience in health information systems or other related health care experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in data analysis, data mining, or other disciplines in data science
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau 
  • A high level of proficiency with database management applications
  • Experience with business intelligence tools
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency with database management applications
  • Microsoft Excel and Access skills

In addition, the successful candidate must have problem-solving and good interpersonal skills.

Project Manager/Readmissions

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a project manager/readmissions. The project manager works directly with the director to implement the assigned projects and to support the deliverables for the Quality Initiatives department and the Partnership for Patient’s Hospital Improvement Innovation Network (HIIN) contract.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identification of education program topics and development of program curricula
  • Assessing participating hospitals’ needs; designs, develops, implements, and evaluates education programming to support program goals
  • Collaborating with faculty to develop instructional methodologies to engage attendees
  • Oversee and/or manage all aspects of program logistics
  • Administer continuing education accreditation procedures and requirements, and ensures continuing education compliance with various licensing and accrediting bodies

Candidates for consideration must:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of recent clinical experience required
  • Case management experience preferred
  • Experience and knowledge regarding hospital readmission best practices, discharge planning and transitions of care across the health care continuum
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as writing abilities Leadership experience a plus
  • Hospital coaching surrounding readmission project work required
  • Behavioral health experience a plus

Additional skills include:

  • Experience in staffing committees, working with groups to build consensus, and project management
  • Experience in leading quality improvement projects, analyzing data, developing strategies for performance improvement, and writing reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including competency with Word, Excel, and the Internet

Contract Operations Manager

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a contract operations manager. The project operations manager works directly with the director, project managers, and data analyst to assure adherence to the federal contract requirements, goals, and modified work.

Candidates for consideration must have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience in health care project management. Previous federal contract experience is required. Experience in leading performance improvement, or regulatory compliance is a plus. Must have experience in leading quality improvement projects, analyzing data, developing strategies for performance improvement, and technical report writing.

Experience with successfully managing multiple priorities and responsibilities required. Must have the ability to foster the development of collegial relationships and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals. Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including competency with Word, Excel, and the Internet.

Manager, Client Services—HAPevolve

HAPevolve, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), is seeking a Manager, Client Services. This position coordinates activities and prepares materials to support the client experience for HAPevolve. Responsibilities include coordination of team members who provide consulting and custom education with a range of solutions for business, clinical and regulatory compliance challenges. This position supports the team by building relationships with clients, setting client expectations, and ensuring an exceptional experience. This position functions in both a project development and delivery capacity as HAPevolve develops and grows product lines. There will be a strong emphasis on project management and the successful delivery of products/services as part of a high functioning team. Direct client-facing responsibilities include proposal writing and collaborative presentation development. In addition, it will include responsibilities directing consultants and business partners.

Candidates for consideration must have a Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare related field or equivalent with five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience in consulting. Candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, resolve complex challenges and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills. Must also be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with various groups, such as human resources and operations.

Regional Account Executive—HAPevolve

HAPevolve, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), is seeking a Regional Account Executive. This position will develop, maintain and expand relationships with HAP members and HAPevolve clients. This includes implementing strategies and tactics by working closely with the HAPevolve leadership team. This position will represent the entire range of HAPevolve products and services which include a range of solutions for business, clinical and regulatory compliance challenges. Position will lead the account planning cycle and ensure assigned client needs and expectations are met. Responsibilities will include achieving a sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives.

Candidates for consideration must have a Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of health care experience in either acute, post-acute or ambulatory care or sales and business development. This position will require 70 to 80 percent travel in the state of Pennsylvania.
